Within MISRA Compliance 2016 it was cited the possibility to utilize possible deviation permits. However, unless wrong, since 2016 only the MISRA C:2004 deviation permits have been published, while no official deviation permits for MISRA C:2012 (am I wrong?). If this is confirmed, in case a given MISRA C:2004 rule, which is substantially confirmed also in MISRA C:2012, is associated to a deviation permit, can this latter also be applied/utilized in for MISRA C:2012?

MISRA C: 2004 has Rule 13.3 (required): Floating-point expressions shall not be tested for equality or inequality.

This rule is very useful. We use Mathworks/Polyspace for static analysis. We can find issues of (floating variable == or != 0.0) by turning on MISRA C: 2004, but we miss this check by using MISRA C:2012.

We want to always apply the latest MISRA C standard, but not sure which rule in MISRA C: 2012 matches rule 13.3 of MISRA C: 2004?

MISRA C:2004 had an additional document MISRA AC AGC explaining the application of MISRA-C 2004 in the context of automatic code generation and it do gives applicability of the rule on Model level with MOD category. In MISRA C:2012 a small section is added to explain the applicability on auto code in Appendix E where i could not find any details on the action required at model level. If i am moving from MISRA C:2004 to MISRA C:20012 what rules should i take to address at model level. Will MISRA be releasing any document in this regard.
