Dealing with your footnotes first
(*) I'm puzzled how this has happened! My master copies of the PDF show no differences between the two documents (beyond the reordering of pages in the frontmatter)...

You are right that, in that instance, u8 should be uc - and as you observe, this is unchanged from MISRA C:2012
I have added this to the Errata page, and this will corrected in a future update.
