That is strange indeed. I presume the master pdf copy does not have the license note on each of the pages, or even pre-reserved spots for placing the licensee's name and date, and only add these when automatically re-generated on purchase? Perhaps this could interfere with pagination. Perhaps not. Just keep in mind that print and electronic copies might diverge in layout, for reasons yet unknown.
